Founder & Creator
We thank you for taking the time today to discover what Teen Skin Health is all about. We would love to join you on your Teen Skin Health journey. Born in Sydney, Australia, and moving to Canberra in the late 80s. Theresa began an apprenticeship in a beauty salon close to home at the age of 16. "This is when I realised skin and body health was my real passion".
Theresa soon realised she had a natural talent, after becoming Canberra’s # 1 beauty therapist and labelled the ‘Eyebrow Queen’, she was working as a beauty stylist on both local and international celebrities. In her early 20's, she was training new beauty and spa therapists to be the best they could be and began her real obsession with study. She studied Anatomy & Physiology and then went on to study Nutrition (Health Science), Cosmetic Chemistry, Aromatherapy, and Therapeutic Massage.
A lasting vision
After much consideration and international travel, Theresa decided to stay in Canberra and opened her salon in 1998, Canberra Beauty & Body Lab in Braddon. This was no ordinary salon. It was Canberra’s first Aromatherapy Day Spa. The Beauty & Body lab went on to be the most booked salon in Canberra and had a waitlist for both clients and therapists who wanted to work with and for Theresa.
She was highly regarded for her training and her ability to make her clients feel like they were the only person on this earth. After using a range of products she decided to put her study experience into further practice and created a Vegan Aromatherapy Skincare product line called ‘ALLICIO’. Her product range soon became a top choice for salons and spas throughout Australia and was featured regularly in magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Dolly, Cosmopolitan, Cleo, Professional Beauty Magazines, Elle and many more.
Between the years of 2010 and 2019 Theresa's main focus was teaching kids of all ages the real value of how to look after their bodies. Her ability to encourage and teach kids to cook real food, with the focus on healthy eating was not only to help improve health but to increase their self esteem. Working closely with families of children with severe allergies and learning challenges is something close to her heart.
